Cruising into tomorrow,
On the edge of the darkest night;
I keep my eyes fixed upon the horizon,
Waiting for morning’s first light.

The road has been dark and empty,
Full of unexpected twists and turns;
I’ve had to double back a few times,
But along the way I’ve learned.

I’ve navigated the landscape,
With my face pressed up against the glass;
Hoping and praying to stay true to course,
Knowing, this too, shall pass.

I’ve crept through fog-dense lanes,
By forests, fields and streams;
I’ve flown along open highways,
By the light of my high beams.

I have sailed the ocean deep,
And swum along its shores;
I’ve drunk deep from the well of life,
I will be forever thirsty for more.

Endless vistas do unwind,
So many places to explore;
All I have to do is follow my own two feet,
As I walk on out the door.
